Dr Muhammad Younis
(Forman Christian College project lead)

Associate Professor, Department of Political Science

Dr Muhammad Younis holds a PhD in Political Science from the School of Public Administration, Hua Zhong University of Science and Technology, China. He has published fourteen research articles in peer reviewed national and international journals including three book chapters. In addition to proposing and chairing panels in a range of international conferences, he has presented papers at a wide variety of conferences worldwide. His research interests include federalism, democracy, politics of Pakistan and international organizations. He previously chaired also chaired the FCCU Department of Political Science from 2013 to June 2017.

Dr Umber Bin Ibad

Associate Professor, Department of History

Dr Umber Bin Ibad has been a member of the Department of History since August 2013, and has around 14 years of teaching and research experience in various institutions in Pakistan and abroad. He was previously Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Social Sciences at the The University of Manchester, UK (2012 to 2013) and served as a member of the Philosophy Faculty at Government College University, Lahore (2006 to 2009). He is an Associate Editor for The Pakistan Journal of Historical Studies, published by Indiana University Press (USA).

Dr Ryan Brasher

Assistant Professor & Department Chair, Department of Political Science

Ryan Brasher has been serving at Forman Christian College University since 2014. He received his PhD in Political Science from Indiana University, with specialization in Comparative Politics and International Relations, and a PhD minor in Central Eurasian Studies. His research interests centre around the question of national and ethnic identity in Central and South Asia, 20th Century state building in non-colonized societies, and more recently that of political attitudes of Christian minority in Pakistan. In 2013 he was a visiting researcher at the Center for Development Research in Bonn (ZEF). He was born in and grew up in Germany and also spent significant time in Finland, Sweden, and Afghanistan.

Rabia Malik is currently undertaking an MPhil in Political Science at Forman Christian College University.

Dr Syed Rashid Munir

Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science

Syed Rashid Munir has a PhD in Political Science from SUNY Binghamton and teaches courses in political science at undergraduate and graduate level. His research interests include asymmetric cooperation under the prospect of coercion from major powers, as well as opposition characteristics and their impact on external security arrangements in the Middle East. He is currently conducting research on foreign visits by minor state leaders to their major power patrons.

M. Usman Farooq

Lecturer, Department of Political Science

M. Usman Farooq obtained his Master’s Degree in Democratic Governance and Civil Society (DRZ) as a DAAD scholar at the University of Osnabrueck, Germany, where he is currently pursuing his PhD on Governance and State Transformation of Pakistan in 21st Century Conditions. Before joining Forman Christian College University he worked as researcher with various academic and policy studies institutes. His research experience includes positions at the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC), the Center for Development Research (ZEF), the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), and the Institute for Social Sciences (ISS). Among his areas of focus are democratic governance, civil society, political economy and developmental state, international relations, peace building and conflict resolution, social movements and social mobilization.

Qalandar Memon

Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science

Qalandar Memon is a Lahore based writer, poet and editor of Naked Punch Review, as well as Assistant Professor at Forman Christian College. He co-edited Dispatches From Pakistan (University of Minnesota Press) with Madiha Tahir and Vijay Prashad. He is currently working on a book titled, People's History of Pakistan.
